What is it about funerals?

The gathering where you see great aunts and oncles and distant cousins twice removed and everyone says we really should get together more often and not just meet in a place like this.

Well let’s see for me, between the May long weekend and Canada Day I have attended four funerals, met and exchanged the greeting above until it actually became funny in dark sort of way and people were greeting one another with platitudes like “hey didn’t I run into you here last week?” Yeah I know! 

In late July, my migraine was so out of control I sent my condolences to what would have the fifth funeral of the summer. Mercifully in August we got a reprieve, a breather, a full month without seeing the inside of a funeral parlour. But all good things…yep you guessed it another funeral for me and I dread to hear the greetings of the today so stay tuned!
