4000 words is the goal in this no sex writing challenge of mine and I’ve hit a wall with 2,656 words to go. All I conjure are those damn carnal scenes so scratch those close the laptop and since one of my daughters requested some bath bombs let’s make a batch.
They’re so easy to make here’s my fail safe recipe:
- 1 cup baking soda
- ½ cup citric acid
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ cup Epsom salt (I use with and without fragrance – my daughters prefer the ones with fragrance especially the eucalyptus ones)
- 1 tsp. water
- 2 tsp. essential oil (ex: lavender, vanilla, mint, eucalyptus etc.)
- 3 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil or any another emollient oil of your choice such as coconut oil, sweet almond oil etc.
- Food coloring (any color you want)
You’ll need a bowl, a jar with a lid, a whisk, and bath bomb molds.
- Pour the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch and Epsom salt into a bowl. Whisk the ingredients until fully combined.
- In a jar, I use a mason jar, pour the essential oil, the emollient oil of your choice and food coloring and mix the ingredients together by shaking the jar until the food coloring is fully incorporated.
- Slowly pour the oil mixture into the dry ingredients. When the oil is all in keep whisking and add drops of water about 1 tsp worth in between.
- Tightly mash your mixture into your molds.
- Leave your bath bombs in the molds for two to four hours before removal.
I now patience is a virtue. Tick, tock, round the clock, before you know it time will be up and you’ll be ready to fizz away your tub!
