With my ongoing chronic migraines and my being on medical leave for over a year now, this is actually something my doctors have asked me to consider; changing paths.
My family doctor wants me to consider exploring new options, ones where I can work from home. Ideally, this would allow me to shut everything off, lie down for an hour or two, let the crisis pass, and then return to work at my own speed if and when a migraine hits.
The neurologist agrees with this, seeing as my bad migraine days outweigh my good days, and working from home would relieve stressors that are usually associated with an office environment and can be triggers for migraine episodes. She strongly believes I have better chances to return to the workforce if it’s in a home-based setting with lots of flexibility.
Creating an online store for my handmade knits and treats is very appealing. Being my own boss and setting my hours sound nifty, but will it generate enough income to support my family?
That worry is a migraine in itself, so is it the right path to follow? There is so much to ponder. Decisions, decisions.
