Erotic romance you can really bite into!

Exploring the Etymology of Roxanne

Daily writing prompt
Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

“Roxanne” is a Persian feminine given name, its English rendition derived from the Greek Rhōxanē, which has been Latinised to Roxana, wife of Alexander the Great, a name that originates from Old Iranian Rauxšnā meaning bright or radiant, sharing the same etymology as the Persian word “Roshan.”

It’s shit out of luck for me that I’m the complete opposite of what my name represents. The high-intensity migraine attacks leave me feeling sick and sallow, tired, and upset because I can’t seem to get the upper hand on my health. Nothing bright or radiant in my corner at the moment.
