Letting go of my worry list

Daily writing prompt
What could you try for the first time?

Let’s see. There are so many options to choose from here.
Out of all the ideas that pop into my head, I’ll have to choose to let go of things that are out of my control and only aggravate my migraines.

Although I know I can’t control whether my insurance will send my disability payment this month, that doesn’t stop me from worrying about it and planning to ensure my monthly engagements are covered if they I’m not paid. Just like I can’t control when the repairs from the water damage we had in July will be done, it doesn’t stop me from stressing that it’s ongoing and moving as slow as molasses in winter. And I definitely can’t control whether my child gets accepted into the trade school of her choice.

Still, the worries keep piling up; they not only make my migraine level rise, but they awaken my need to resolve everything, and because these aren’t things I have any power to change the outcome of, the stress adds pressure and causes more migraine suffering.

My worry list leaves little time for all the fun stuff I want to accomplish and leave simmering on the backburners. Can I let go and start bringing stuff to the front burners? It’s definitely worth a try.

Keep trying to shift those worries onto the backburner (what a lovely way of describing such a sh!tty situation)… I’m super understanding… hang in there. Linda xx
