I love going out for walks with my dog.
Although my beagle gets so excited he drags me more than I walk, which trying to get him to heel and calm down is in itself an exercise.
When he does behave, walking in the wooden trails around my neighborhood is a great way to spend an early morning out. He gets to put his nose to ground and sniff to his hearts content and I get the peace and quiet the trees provide.
Walking down to the marina in the afternoon to watch the waves rolling on the river and my dog trying to hunt the ducks is fascinating. He races after them until they take flight, I don’t think he’s grasped the concept that he can’t fly. He get’s that sad puppy eyed look and howls in dejection when he doesn’t catch them and then I tell him it’s time to walk back home and he’s happy again.
