Yes, I’m lucky enough to have seen many different wild animals: bears, foxes, coyotes, deer, moose, a gyrfalcon, and a family of wolves.
The flight of the gyrfalcon was majestic, I have to admit.
The foxes were curious about my friends and me as they approached our campground, and, most of all, they seemed to enjoy the guitar playing and singing, leaving when we stopped the music as if we had ruined their party.
The bears and coyotes I encountered were all more afraid of us humans than we of them. The trick is to make lots of noise, clap your hands, or bang sticks together, and most of all, don’t run.
Deer, and moose are good at hiding themselves. Once spotted, they often don’t remain in one’s sight for long, a self-preservation instinct of the hunted.
