Published in May 2002 by Berkley, Henry’s book is available on Amazon in hardcover, paperback, Kindle, and audiobook formats, at local libraries, or through the Libby app.
Henry introduces her new paramour, Nora Stephens, and Charlie Lastra. Nora is a literary agent Charlie is an editor, and they clash. Yet kismet keeps bringing them together in all sorts of non-meet-cute situations.
Nora agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina, the setting of one of her author’s series and one her sister Libby is obsessed with. Her pregnant sister plans this sisters’ trip with ulterior motives and makes a list for Nora. The items to check off range from fun to odd, but Nora relents and lets her sister tick them off one by one.
Charlie, a native of Sunshine Falls or thereabouts, is back home to help after his father’s health scare. He doesn’t always feel at ease in the small town and doesn’t know what to do about Nora. The pair keeps bumping into each other, begrudgingly become friends, and things snowball.
The writing is immersive, drawing readers into a world of books. It’s rich and true. Even the unraveling coincidences and the way Henry crafts each scene are marvelous, a true 3-5 star read, perfect for fans of Abby Jimenez, Ali Hazelwood, and Carley Fortune.
