ROXANNA CROSS

Erotic romance you can really bite into!

Book Review: The Spy who Ghosted me, by Jennifer Peel

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Published in 2024, the book, written in dual perspective from the main characters Kendal and Cash, is available on Amazon in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook formats.

Three years ago, while in Bordeaux, France, Kendal believed she had the best meet-cute ever when a mysterious man ran into her on the streets and kissed her. For the next few months, they became inseparable, until he vanished.

Ghosted without an explanation, she never believed she’d see Cash Denton again. Especially not, on her way to her sister’s wedding, yet there he is, cocky as hell and with ulterior motives, such as using her again and disappearing in the wind when the job is over. What a jack a*. Kendall is spineless. She accepts his return and lets her feelings run free once again. Typical.

For a spy novel, this plotline lacks the spycraft, tension, and action that make the genre. As a romance, it falls utterly flat. There’s no chemistry, no believability, and no love. So, no surprise at the 1-star rating.
