ROXANNA CROSS

Erotic romance you can really bite into!

Book Review: The World of the Narrows #2, Namesake, by Adrienne Young

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

First published in March 2021 by Wednesday Books, the second book in the World of the Narrows is told from Fable’s perspective. It is available on Amazon in hardcover, paperback, Kindle, and audiobook formats, at local libraries, or through the Libby app.

Seventeen-year-old Fable is finding it hard to continue living by her father’s rules, especially when he’s shown her time and time again how little she means to him. Making herself a new family with West’s crew aboard the Marigold seems to be her best option.

This review focuses on Fable’s journey as she faces betrayal, deception, and dangerous secrets tied to rival traders. She must weigh loyalty to her newfound family against her pursuit of freedom, knowing her decisions could endanger those she loves. Fable’s story tests whether she can bravely face these dangers without letting the consequences affect others. A responsibility she finds almost unbearable.

Caught as a pawn in a larger game between powerful trading families, Fable must navigate unreliable partnerships and life-and-death perils, all while fighting to survive in a world built for men. The intricate web of alliances and betrayals forces her to rely on her instincts and ingenuity to protect herself and her crew.

Fans of Adalyn Grace, Tricia Levenseller, and Kristen Ciccarelli will find this 3.5-star book right up their alley.
